Sadly, to my disappointment it Also didn’t help in my son’s condition. Maybe he’s allergic to some ingredients, so haix… It flare up one night so we went into into kkh and was given physiogel, which Finally saved him!!! 😂 They have intensive cream, body lotion and normal cream liked the pic below. It was also highly recommended by pharmacy in guardian stores, at least it worked for my boy on the first day. (We also changed his soap to cetephil) So I guess there’s a ingredient in it that locked the moisture in his skin.
Among some of the potential side effects of using a prescription hydrocortisone ointment, cream, or lotion include a sudden increase in appetite. Others may find that the medication impacts the mental processes, aggravating any existing depression or anxiety disorders. The skin may become excessively sensitive to natural sunlight, increasing the chances of sustaining a sunburn. Should any of these side effects appear, a physician should be consulted immediately. If decreasing the dosage does not alleviate the ill effects, a physician can usually prescribe an alternative ointment or salve in place of the hydrocortisone product.
If a steroid cream is purchased over the counter, the package should disclose the steroid used, and the strength, such as one percent hydrocortisone cream. Generally, the cream should not be used for more than a week, unless a doctor has specifically recommended an over the counter product for extended use. If the condition does not respond or grows worse, the over the counter cream should be discontinued, and an appointment should be made with a dermatologist , who can examine the site and prescribe a different medication or course of treatment.
